BIOGRAPHY
Ant has been DJ’ing since 1994. He started out playing at London’s underground warehouse parties on the sound systems of that time, such as Jiba and Virus and most predominantly, Immersion. Since then he firmly established himself as one of the primary DJ’s and producers within the Stay Up Forever Collective.
He plays rolling techno, acid, funky techno and everything else in between.
Ant has played throughout the UK as well as further a field in countries such as Brazil, Venezuela, Colombia, South Africa, Poland, Bulgaria, Sardinia, Ireland, Holland, France, U.S.A., Canada, Czech Republic, Russia, Ukraine, Spain, Norway, Israel and Japan.
Ant has produced hundreds of records using his own studio (The Power Plant) as well as the old Kinetec studio in London’s west end. He has collaborated with many artists such as Chris Liberator, DDR, Dave The Drummer, Geezer and Lenny Dee and has produced not just for his own label (Powertools), but for many others such as Stay Up Forever, Cluster, RAW, Hydraulix, Smitten, Maximum Minimum, etc…..
He also has released a digital album entitled “Songs For A Useless Generation” on his digital label Powertools 909 as well as a mix album entitled “Tooled Up”.
His production highlights include “Fast lane”, “Stop/Go”, “Stoned Trance”, “Colombia’s Finest”, “Our Broken Toy” and many more…
His label, Powertools, has been host to such artists as Chris Liberator, Sterling Moss, Rackitt, Lenny Dee, KN and James Kinetec. Originally tied to Infectious, but now rooted in the SUF camp, the label produces hard-hitting techno floor fillers such as the massive “Ain’t No Stoppin’ This!”, “Original” and “The Powertool”.
Ant not only DJ’s solo, but also collaborates with fellow SUF artists on stage, such as Ant and Chris Liberator on 4 decks, Ant and Dave The Drummer on 4 decks, Ant and DDR live set and decks and finally Ant and Guy “Geezer” McAffer live set and decks.
